Hi, welcome to my website, showcasing my work and products. Essex Spit and Polish products were started as an experiment to make finishing products I could use on my own products, and to know exactly what goes into them.
I have been woodworking for many years and started woodturning in my 20’s. I took a course in woodturning at Peter Childs in Essex, and was hooked. Since then, I have tried a variety of woodworking techniques and particularly enjoy chair making and woodcarving, in addition to turning. I completed a two-year-long evening class in cabinetmaking and a woodcarving class with Peter Benson at the Essex School of Woodcarving. This reawakened my interest in woodcarving. Since retiring from my job in the NHS in 2019, I have been able to spend more time woodworking. I am also a member of Essex Woodworkers, a small group of woodworking enthusiasts that meet regularly to share experiences and talk about our passion for woodwork.
